1. WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Based on the 1993 film of the same name, the show follows the story of Phil Connors, a cynical TV weatherman who gets caught in a time loop whilst covering the annual Groundhog Day event in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, sending him on a hilarious and moving path to enlightenment and redemption.

3. WHO CREATED IT?
The show is brought to you by many of the Creative team behind Matilda The Musical, including Old Vic Artistic Director Matthew Warchus and Tim Minchin who wrote the music and lyrics. The show’s script is written by Danny Rubin, who co-wrote the screenplay for the iconic 1993 film of the same name.
The award-winning soundtrack includes songs such as ‘There Will be Sun’, ‘If I Had My Time Again’ and ‘Seeing You’.
4. ANDY KARL IS IN THE LEADING ROLE
Andy Karl will reprise his role as Phil Connors in this production, having played the role in both the previous London and Broadway productions, winning him an Olivier Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for his performance.
5. IT WON THE OLIVIER AWARD FOR BEST NEW MUSICAL
The 2016 London production was nominated for eight Olivier Awards, winning two for Best New Musical and Best Actor. It also ran on Broadway in 2017 where it was chosen as a New York Times Critic’s Pick and received six Tony Nominations.
